SUARA SOPPENG -- The National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) in Sidrap Regency has successfully completed the construction of the 38th Decent Livable House (RTLH) for those eligible to receive zakat (charitable donations).
This particular RTLH was handed over to Pung Kanco, a resident of Tonronge Village in the Baranti District, on Friday (January 26, 2024). Pung Kanco had previously lost his home due to a tragic fire incident.
The handover ceremony was marked by a ribbon-cutting event and the presentation of house keys by the Acting Regent of Sidrap, H. Basra, accompanied by the Chairman of Baznas Sidrap, H. Mustari Sede.

Representing Pung Kanco's family, the Head of Tonronge Village, Ilyas, expressed gratitude to the local government and Baznas Sidrap for the housing assistance.
"Thanks to this aid, Pung Kanco can have a home again. We hope that all those who have cared and assisted will be granted health, safety, and abundant blessings from Allah SWT," said Ilyas.

Meanwhile, in his address, Acting Regent Basra stated that the assistance provided is a result of zakat managed by Baznas. He also urged all residents to regularly contribute zakat, infaq, and sadaqah.
"The accumulated zakat will be distributed to those in need. However, always remember sincerity so that blessings can be received," Basra emphasized.
